Carmanah gets contract for solar PV system in Ontario

Carmanah Technologies has secured a contract from PowerStream to supply and install a solar photovoltaic (PV) system for the Thornhill Community Centre located in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

The company will engineer, procure and construct the 350kW (AC) rooftop solar system valued at about C$2m ($1.96m).

Construction of the facility began in October 2011 and the project is scheduled to commence commercial operation in early 2012.

PowerStream is a municipally-owned power distribution company in Ontario, delivering electricity to more than 330,000 customers in communities located immediately to the north of Toronto and in central Ontario.
