27 January 2012 - 3:26PM

Black Fork Wind Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Element Power has received approval for the development of 200MW Black Fork wind farm in US state of Ohio.

The project is located in Crawford and Richland Counties on about 15,000 acres of agricultural land.

The approved permit allows Black Fork Wind to select from several turbine technologies giving the project the flexibility to utilize the most competitive technology.

Energy generated by the project will be equivalent to the power requirements of the 55,000 homes.

Commercial operations are scheduled to commence as early as 2013.

US-based Element Power develops, acquires, builds, and operates utility-scale solar and wind power projects, creating clean, renewable sources of energy.
