A leading offshore turbine manufacturer is currently seeking an experienced Offshore Construction Manager to join their rapidly expanding team. Due to their continuously growing business and portfolio of offshore wind projects, they are looking for new personnel to take their projects into the next steps and are seeking accomplished individuals with exceptional experience in the offshore wind sector.
The Role:
The Offshore Construction Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the offshore construction works required for assigned offshore wind farm projects. They will ensure that all technical support both in the development and contracting phases is accurate and adheres to current legal regulations. You will be responsible for the representation of the company standards and working with stakeholders and contractors to ensure the end result is delivered to the highest quality and safety.
Further responsibilities will involve the correct application, bidding, construction and operation of the offshore wind farms; assure the decision-making process and being responsible for the leadership, supervision, coordination and execution of the offshore wind farms, as well as for the achievement of the schedule, budget, safety and quality objectives to carry out the Company's Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and supervise the whole project from construction through to decommissioning including fabrication, transport, installation and commissioning, ensuring they are done on time, within budget, to a high standard, on time and apply to all consenting requirements and environmental mitigation.
2. Produce a project construction plan outlining the schedule and resources that are required; method statements, procedure for fabrication, transport, installation, commissioning and decommissioning of the project.
3. Ensure that the whole project can be manufactured, transported, installed and commissioned on budget.
4. Responsible for providing the Technical Manager and Commercial Manager with all necessary documentation to engage with contractors
5. Provide technical support and liaise with all areas of the Technical Department when necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
6. Ensuring control of the budget, deadline and produce monthly project reports outlining progress, budget and safety statistics. Also produce any other necessary documentation throughout the process.
7. Ensure that the safety and welfare of all personnel is kept to a high standard at all times
Key Requirements:
1. Excellent construction management, including working with contractors and sub-contractors, and excellent communication skills from suppliers to internal communications
2. Ability to work within a budget, keep to project time lines and deliver high quality work
3. Strong leadership qualities
4. Strong understanding of the UK HSE regulations
5. Strong technical and engineering knowledge
6. Offshore Construction Experience
7. Ability to travel across the UK and abroad when necessary
